Response to GoDaddy SuperBowl Ad

Well, looks like the racy GoDaddy SuperBowl ad did OK. Response has been favorable overall; everyone seems to have fallen in love with Nikki Cappelli, the actress featured in the ad, and this is understandable. The ad was a naughty play on last year's Janet Jackson fiasco, which could easily have caused the same kinda' backlash, but I guess Nikki's cute face and adolescent voice won everybody over.

The increased awareness of the company generated by the commercial should translate into more business, which, in turn--I hope--will mean more money to invest in their infrastructure. As I posted earlier, I've been having nameserver and ownership transfer problems of late, but they seems to have fixed all that now. The account executive assigned to me provided some Sunday afternoon support yesterday which made me smile (apparently he had to work yesterday because the people @ GoDaddy were expecting a huge response to their SuperBowl commercial.)

So, GoDaddy, you are once again back in my good graces. I still think your commercial was obvious and somewhat cheesy but hey: whatever works, right? Just keep those prices low and keep your system reliable and we could have a very long relationship. And do us all a favor: keep Nikki Cappelli on your payroll :o)

The banned ad didn't seem any worse or better than the one that aired. I'm not a prude, so I didn't really see much wrong with either, but if I had to pick which one was more risque, I'd have to say the real one. Yes, the girl was very cute, but some of the reviews I heard on the outside were mostly, "Great ad, but who was it for?" I have to wonder if that will translate into domain sales for GoDaddy. I would have thought they were advertising an adult site. :) Wonder what happened to Candice Michelle (or are they one in the same)? Ah, the mysteries of life.

Glad to hear you got some GoDaddy issues straightened out. I register through RegisterMate, which is a GoDaddy reseller and it had those pages and pages of ads, but I finally discovered that there is a frequent shopper button to skip them. Very convenient.

Yup; you are absolutely right. One and the same. No matter: she could change her name to Gertrude Manhater and still have plenty of admirers :o)
